Well I never!

One enterprising teacher arranged a trip from Somerset to Hadrian's Wall beginning after school on Friday. They drove through the night, had breakfast at a motorway service station, and spent Saturday visiting Housesteads, Vindolanda and maybe somewhere else. They then drove back through the night and were collected by their families on Sunday morning.

Hostels

Once Brewed Youth Hostel is an excellent centre for parties visiting Housesteads, Vindolanda, Carrawburgh, the Roman Army Museum and more.

Birdoswald Hostel (39 beds) is within the walls of the fort - see below under English Heritage.
